In memory of the remarkable life of Walter H Tietjen, who passed away peacefully on January 6, 2013. Walter was born in New York and moved to Raleigh as a young man, where he volunteered with the community and set up his own online business in the early days of the Internet. Walter had many interests, including electronics, cartoons, and Animal Planet. He cared greatly about family and had creative nicknames for many. He is survived by many loving cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Mr. Tietjen’s name to Hayes-Barton United Methodist Church or to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Service is Friday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. at Hayes-Barton United Methodist Church.
