Our Mom, Carol Ann Banwarth, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on January 17th, 2022 at the age of 78. She was born in Freeport, Illinois on June 14th, 1943 to Bob and Helen Gille and for most of her childhood, she grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Stockton High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Banwarth. They married in 1962 and eventually made a home with their three children, Tammy, Bobby Jr., and Susan in Apple River, Illinois. Family gatherings and holiday get-togethers with both the Gille and Banwarth families were always abundant. In 1975, Mom and Dad, along with close family friends Dave and Janet Winn, moved the family to Red Bluff, Ca. where Dad started a trucking company with the Banwarth brothers Norm and Ron. Our Mom, Carol, was always a bookkeeper and dispatcher for Dad's trucking endeavors and his business partner for the family trucking company and later for Summit Logging. When Dad started truck driving for Walmart, she and friends, Marlene and Stephanie, planned all the friend's many activities. She loved spending time with family and friends which usually consisted of playing pool and multiple card games like 500, euchre, pinochle, and especially poker. She was a shark at all and usually won all of the money! She also loved to crochet and paint ceramics. Just like her Mom, she was an excellent cook and baker and loved to garden and could grow anything. Her yard was always beautiful and full of flowers. She loved birds and photography, especially blue birds and hummingbirds. Our Mom's absolute passion, though, was caring for and spending time with her 7 grandchilren and 11 great grandchildren. Each and every one was special to her and she always had time to play games and talk. She went to all the ball games and school performances. She was always cooking and baking their favorite treats. She loved having family dinners and would make the grandkids anything that they wanted. She was a young at heart Grandma that was full of energy that would ride bikes, ride wave runners, play basketball and games with them. Hugs and cuddles were plentiful. Even though moving a little slower, she had that same devotion to the great grandkids and would be the one that would get on the floor and drive cars with them. Our Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma will always be loved and missed by all.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Helen Gille, and brother's-in-law David Tague (Peggy) and David Temoin (Patty).
She is survived by her devoted husband Bob of almost 60 years, 3 children and son's and daughter's-in-law: Tammy Gallegos (Glen), Bobby Banwarth (Twila), Suzie German (Steve);
