Doreen was born on April 1, 1929 in San Francisco, CA. In 1952, she moved to Oroville, CA when she married Carl Ruggle. They had three children who were the world to her. She was deeply involved in the Catholic church and her faith. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, and camping. She, along with her parents, spent summers traveling and sharing their love of the fishing and camping with her children. After her divorce in 1975, she went to Butte College and obtained her degree. Then joined the workforce again. First with Butte County Social Services and then with the US Forest Service, where she retired in 2000. She remained in Oroville, until her family convinced her to move to Red Bluff in 2012, to be near her daughter Bernadette and her family. Whether it was a long time friend or new acquaintance, everyone had the same sentiment about Doreen. She was a kind, thoughtful, and caring person. She also had a quick wit, which would catch you by surprise. She is survived by her children: son Toni (Vickie) Ruggle of Chico, daughter Bernadette (Tim) McKim of Red Bluff, and son Chris (Toni) Ruggle of Chico. Grandchildren: Justin & Tyler McKim, Trevor Ruggle, Emily & Cole Ruggle. Great-Grandchildren: Konnor & Aubrey McKim, Sophia Ruggle, Lucca Synold, Taylor & Andi McKim.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Anna Anderson, brother Bernard Vanderhoof, son Martin Ruggle, and grandsons Brendan Ruggle and Cody Ruggle.
Graveside service for immediate family will be held December 21, 2020 at 1:30pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville where she will be laid to rest with her mother Anna Anderson and infant son Martin Ruggle. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
