June 26, 1923. He worked many jobs including road construction, the shipyards and enlisted in
the army, but his passion was cattle ranching and horses.
Grover moved to Red Bluff and purchased his Dairyville ranch in the early 1950’s, and on July 11, 1962, married the love of his life, Florence “Flossie” Ellen Elwood McWhirk. They were blessed with a son, Kevin Gene Pearce on August 9, 1963. Grover raised registered quarter horses and paint horses. Grover ran cattle all over California and Oregon with Flossie and Kevin. He loved rodeos, team roping, week long trail rides and hunting and fishing with his son, Kevin.
Grover was a wonderful grandpa and adored his two grandchildren, Paige and Kaden. He attended all
of their school and sporting events. He was eager to brag about them to anyone who would listen. He exposed them to the world of cattle ranching, as they spent a lot of time at the ranch and participated in many brandings growing up. Grover was deeply loved by his family and the Red Bluff community. He will forever be in our hearts and will live on in our memories. He now stands hand in hand with Flossie in heaven. May he rest in peace.
