James Franseth died May 28, 2018 at his home with his daughters at his bedside. He was 89 years old. Jim was the youngest of 3 children born to Alice and James in Camas Washington. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth; parents, and sweet sisters: Evelyn and Beverly; and devoted daughter Shelley. He is survived by daughter Jacalyn and her children Nichole, husband Joey and children James and Emily; grandson Matt and wife Shelby; daughter and son in law: Debra and Jeff and their children Brianna and husband Derek, Christine and Zachary; son in law Henry; brother in law Jim and many nieces and nephews. Jim was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a true family man. He moved his family to Red Bluff in 1957. He worked at Povey Chevrolet Oldsmobile Cadillac for the remainder of his career. Jim and Ruth enjoyed a wonderful social life with their friends in the community of Red Bluff. They enjoyed their fellowship at the Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. Jim also joined the Kiwanis Club as a young man and enjoyed years of service and fellowship with his fellow Kiwanians. Jim and Ruth also had many opportunities to travel which they frequently enjoyed with their closest friends. Jim enjoyed sports and was an avid tennis player for much of his adult life. He started golfing after retirement and enjoyed years of golfing as well. A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church, 838 Jefferson Street, on June 9, 2018 at 10:00 followed by the burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. The reception will be at his family home.
