Janice Ann Knight was born to Ralph and Luella Brittsan on October 15, 1936 in Stockton California and passed away March 17, 2018 in Red Bluff, surrounded by family. She attended Stockton area schools and was involved in 4-H, raising pigs and learning to cook, sew, and can the many fruits and vegetables the family grew on their small farm. Janice also had a horse which she rode in local rodeos in barrel racing competitions. She married Ron Knight in 1957 and began their married life in Davis while Ron completed his studies at UC Davis. After moving to Fairfield Ca, they began raising their family. In 1964, the family moved to Visalia Ca where Janice, again, became involved in 4-H, this time as a parent. She was also involved in PTA at the elementary and middle schools their children attended. Another move in 1972 brought the family to Red Bluff where Janice became involved in Tehama County BoPeeps and Tehama County CattleWomen. She was CowBelle of the year in 1986. She remained active in these organizations until the death of her husband in 2000. Janice was a wonderful cook. Her family devoured just about everything she prepared for them and, with her husband Ron, enjoyed cooking at Camp Tehama for 4-H Camp. Janice is predeceased by her husband Ron, parents, and brother, Donald Brittsan. Janice is survived by her children: Karen and Pete Chambers of Visalia, Steve and Elizabeth Knight of West Sacramento, and Jim and Dianna Knight of Red Bluff. Grandchildren surviving Janice are Lauren Chambers of Visalia, Rebecca and Justin Nakamura of West Covina, Amanda Engh of Redding, William Knight of Blacksburg, Virginia, Alysha Knight of Loxahatchee, Florida, Devin Garcia of Bethel, Washington, Ryan and Ashley Knight of Red Bluff and Ross and Jaclyn Knight of Red Bluff. Great grandchildren are Silas and Owen Nakamura. Janice found out just before she passed that another great grandchild is on the way. There are many nieces, nephews, and special friends that survive Janice. Janice will be remembered by her humor no matter the situation, cheery disposition, and a great love for her family.
