Jolanta Krystyna Kurowski (Bielecka)
On Saturday, November 3, 2018, Jolanta Krystyna Kurowski, loving mother of three and grandmother of seven, passed away at the age of 68.
Jolanta, to most known as Krystyna or Krysia, was born in Poland, Sopot on May 9, 1950 to Eugeniusz Bielecki and Stanislawa Bielecka. Krystyna went to culinary school and received her degree in the culinary arts. Right from the beginning, her family knew, she had a talent with creating beautiful and delicious dishes. Krystyna had married Marek Kurowski and they had three children, Piotr Kurowski, Agnieszka Fischer and Sabina Wiley. In the early 80’s, during the Cold War, Krystyna, husband and children sought refuge in Germany and then a few years later immigrated to the United States. Amongst the Polish community, her reputation for being an amazing cook grew. She was know for the most amazing flaki, her pierogi were out of this world, she could create a feast from any ingredient, and it would have been the most amazing thing you have ever eaten. There were no such things as frozen dinners; everything was made with love and passion. Her food could not be described in any other way than amazing. Krystyna had many hobbies; she was a woman that could do anything, a true super woman. She excelled at any possible craft, could sew just about anything, she picked up a paintbrush and created beautiful murals and paintings, she had a vision and she could simply create it. She loved flowers, almost any kind, and anything she planted grew with ease. Her greatest achievement and success in life were her children and grandchildren, so she felt she was the wealthiest woman in the world. She showed great courage, and strength. During the toughest times, she kept her fiery spunk and still made sure she had the last word. She kept her humor, and made us laugh when we felt like crying. And most importantly to her, she made sure she passed down her recipes, her legacy, and her love that will forever be remembered in our hearts.

“God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be. So He wrapped his arms around you and He whispered, “come to me.” You didn’t deserve what you went through, so He gave you needed rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. “ - Frances & Kathleen Coelho
