Linda was well known for her fun-loving, outgoing spirit. She was often described as beautiful, elegant, wise, graceful, generous, inspirational, and patient. As grand as those words are, they barely touch the surface of what a truly special women she was to her family, friends, and really, all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, and we will carry her in our hearts forever.
Linda was born November 2, 1940, in Red Bluff, California, to Paul and Evelyn Edwards Becker. She moved as a child with her mother to Colusa in 1941 where her mom managed the Purity Store, and her beloved aunty took care of her. After World War II, Evelyn married Bob Martin and they moved to Long Beach, California. In Long Beach, she was blessed with two younger sisters, Cathleen and Donna. Evelyn and her three daughters moved back to Red Bluff, California in 1953. Linda graduated from Red Bluff High School in 1958.
After graduating high school, Linda moved to Sacramento with her Uncle Bill and family to attend Heald's Business College. She returned to Red Bluff, California and started working for Diamond National as a secretary for the cost accountant. In 1959, she met and married Ronald Culp. They were blessed with three children, Paul, Julia and Lori.
In 1965, Linda left Diamond National to work for attorney Stanley Pugh. Shortly after, she went to work for attorneys Coffman and Watkins. SHe then got hired by PG&E in 1970. Linda loved working for PG&E and made many lasting friendships. She worked her way up to Foreman's Clerk, where she was a vital asset to the company and was often called in to work overtime during power outages. It was at PG&E that she met her now late-husband, Eugene Moller,to whom she was married from 1982-2002. Linda was also an active member of PG&E's Pacific Service Employees Association. She retired from PG&E in 1993.
In her younger adult days, Linda participated in both softball and bowling. Her highest bowling score was 2721. After retirement, Linda focused her life on helping and spending time with family and friends. For many years, Linda hosted an annual "Wimmen swimmin" party for her girlfriends from work. Oh, the fun and food and laughter they would share! Linda also loved to travel. She went on several trips and cruises with her family and friends over the years. Linda was a member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS). For several years, she was secretary of Tehama Shooters.
Linda loved her family! As a child, she did all she could to help her mother with caring for her two younger sisters. She loved spending time with her father, especially when her took her up to where her lived in Mineral, California. In addition to raising her own children, she helped with the raising of her grandchildren. Linda, or Grammie as she was called, cared for them while their parents worked, took them on trips, and got them involved in local sports and music programs. Linda had a special bond with all of her children and grandchildren.
Linda loved the Lord and was very active in church. She was first baptised in 4th grade. In 1975, she re-dedicated her life to Jesus and told her children, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Linda attended both First Church of God and First Christian Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher and deaconess. She was also an active member of the Church of God Seniors (the GOG Wheels).
Music! Oh, how Linda loved music! She loved to sing the hymns at church, sing along with the radio, tap out the rhythms, and dance! Some of her favorite singers were the old crooners, like Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. She also loved hearing her children and grandchildren sing and perform.
Sadly, Linda was struck by dementia in her early 70s. All her family stepped up to support her through this journey, caring for her at her home for as long as they could. Her family is very grateful for the care she received from her in-home helpers, and from the staff at Willow Springs Memory Care facility in Redding, California, where she spend her last two years. Through it all, Linda remained the sweet, loving soul she always was. Up to the end, a little "Momma, we love you!" would bring a smile to her face.
