1931, to Paul and Bertha Bosetti in Westwood, CA. He is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn,
brother’s Paul Jr and Morris and a sister Donna Huddleston. Lou is survived by two children:

Knight and Krista Watson; seven great-grandchildren: Quincy and Faith Bosetti, Barrett and

In 1945, Lou met JoAnn Bascom, who would become the love of his life. They married in 1954
and their marriage lasted until her death in 2021. During Lou’s formative years he was involved
in sports and student government. After graduation in 1949, Lou opted to work in the sawmill
and not to attend college, because, as he put it, “I didn’t think a kid from a little town like
Westwood could go off and compete.” After a year working in the sawmill, he changed his
mind and enrolled at Chico State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in
elementary education in 1954 and a master’s degree in 1963.
Lou spent 34 years as an educator in Tehama County, the first 14 years of his career he worked
as a teacher, principal, and director of instruction. In 1970 he was elected as Tehama County
Superintendent of School's, serving 5 terms until his retirement in 1990. To stay active in
retirement, he formed an Eduction Consulting Services business where he helped lead the
operations of the Rural Secure Schools Coalition.
Lou enjoyed being active in the community. He was a founding member of Tehama Bank,
served on the Sierra Pacific Industries Scholarship Committee, a member of the Elk’s Lodge,
Kiwanis Club and a supporter of the State Theatre for the Arts. Lou was a devoted husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, mentor and dedicated public servant. He will be
deeply missed, but his memory will live in our hearts forever.
A private inurnment service will be held at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery. A
