Born in San Diego, CA on May 29th, 1942, Jeanne led a very active life. Growing up, Jeanne loved the spotlight being involved in numerous dance recitals, drama club and in her teens, Rainbow Girls. She continued serving into her adult life by being in Soroptimist International, Vesper, and Molino Chapters of the Eastern Star and St. Peters Episcopal Church in Red Bluff.
In 1976, she married the love of her life, Marvin, and decided to go back to school to receive her teaching credential. She taught English and Drama classes at Corning High School and retired in 1999. After retirement, she continued serving the local public schools by substitute teaching, being active in the CRTA, and dressing up as her “alter ego”, Beatrix Potter, visiting several local elementary schools reading stories to all the students.
Jeanne loved playing the piano, serving in her church’s ministry, attending Eastern Star events, doing life with her husband, and being an active Grammie.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Woodstrup and brother, David Schreck. She is survived by her brother Dan Schreck of Arizona, and her children Don (Janet) Schroder, Sheri (Bob) Marshall, Geri (Rich) Pence, Dori Woodstrup, Marvina Woodstrup, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life is being planned for later this fall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Peters Epsicopal Church, a local scholarship fund, or the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to The Lighthouse staff for all the care and support they have provided Jeanne over the past year.
