Nadene Doris Abdulla

Nadene Doris Abdulla, 89, of Red Bluff, California, passed away on September 2, 2026. Born May 17, 1937, in Phoenix, Arizona, Nadene’s life was marked by steady devotion to family, unwavering faith, and an honesty that earned trust wherever she went.

Born to Winfield and Cordillia Enloe in Phoenix, Nadene grew up alongside two sisters, Lenora and Shirley, and one brother, Clifford. She was raised in Chandler, Arizona, and at 16 moved to Round Mountain, California. She attended Shasta High School and graduated in 1955. Though she earned a homemaking scholarship to Shasta College, she did not pursue her business degree there until later in life—an enduring reflection of her diligence and determination.

Throughout her working years, Nadene brought reliability and integrity to every role she held. She worked three years as a secretary for Kites Electric, seven years for Beeline Fashion, and three years as a secretary for Black Butte School. She also owned and operated her own antique store for 20 years, a long-standing endeavor that reflected both her perseverance and her careful, straightforward way of doing business. She settled into retirement in 2006.

Nadene was married to Albert Hytonen for 35 years, Tom Grafton for 2 years, and John Abdulla for 7 years. She was the proud mother of three children: Chris Hytonen, Melinda Einck, and Megan Hytonen Alston. Her family grew to include 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild—each a testament to the enduring legacy of her devoted presence.

In quieter moments, Nadene found joy in reading and camping. She loved to sew, crochet, and knit, and she was known as an excellent seamstress—patient, precise, and generous with her skill. She also had a special love for dogs, especially poodles, which brought her comfort and companionship over the years.

A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nadene was born into the faith and remained active throughout her entire lifetime. Her faithful service and steady commitment were not occasional acts, but a way of living—consistent, sincere, and grounded in what she believed to be right.

Nadene will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who knew her, and most especially by those who were blessed to call her family.
