Rodney John Hofhenke

Rodney Hofhenke, lifelong resident of Red Bluff/Dairyville, passed away on September 14th after a lengthy illness. Rodney graduated from Red Bluff High School in 1964, where he was a member of the FFA and played trombone in both the RBUHS marching band and the Tehama County Band.

Rodney married Monti McCuin in 1969, and together they raised three children while he helped farm the family almond orchard. He was a fan of sports—especially baseball and football—and spent many years coaching Little League and playing men’s fastpitch softball. Rodney was also an avid fisherman, spending as much time as he could on the river or lake.

His community involvement included membership in the Farm Bureau, the RBUHS Class of ’64 reunion committee, and service on the Tehama County Mosquito Vector Control Board. He was incredibly proud of his family and loved connecting with old friends to catch up and reminisce. He will be remembered for his hard work, love of family, and willingness to help his neighbors.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 57 years, Monti; his daughter Debbie Williams and her husband Kevin; his sons Jason Hofhenke and his wife Merry, and Sam Hofhenke and fiancée Miranda; six grandchildren: Molly (and husband Casey), Timothy, Emma (and husband Kishan) , Ethan, Rodney, and Jacob; one great grandchild, Cassandra; nieces Angela Ford and Rachel Warner; and two half sisters.

An open house celebration of life will be held on November 14th from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at 4060 Via Ventura, Red Bluff, CA.
