Sandra Kay Mackey, age 72, of Red Bluff, CA, died September 8, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on September 24, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at the First Christian Church, 926 Madison, Red Bluff, CA.
Sandra loved her church, her work and her family. She worked hard to become a nurse practitioner in the early days of the profession. She was loved by her patients and worked hard to alleviate their pain and help them heal. She also loved art and became a master quilter.
Sandra, affectionately known as Sam, was born Sept 25, 1948, in Glendale, CA. She lived for many years in the Los Angeles area and then moved to northern California.
She married Terry Wayne Mackey in 1995 and moved to Red Bluff. Terry is a retired fire captain. They were married for 26 years. She and Terry have eight grandchildren.
The First Christian Church in Red Bluff had been her church family since 2002. She loved them and was loved by them. Sandy and Terry went as missionaries to China and Ecuador. Sandy was so proud of taking Bibles into Hong Kong and spreading the Good News.
Sandra has two children, Geoffrey Roy Edwards and Sarah Annette Edwards Bernard. Geoff is married to Cynthia Huynh Edwards. Sarah is married to Matthew Bernard and has two children, Sawyer and Stella.
Sandy’s parents, Roy and Nancy Lang predeceased her. She has three brothers, Lindley Herbert Lang (Carol), David Paul Lang (Carolyn) and Peter Carl Lang (Dee Dee).
Sandy entered heaven on Wednesday, September 8th at 4pm. She died of natural causes. She will be sorely missed by those who loved her.
