

Bill was born on May 17, 1948 in Pasadena, CA to William B. and Vivian E. Timmons. Bill told stories of an idyllic childhood with lots of neighborhood and school friends, sports and playing in the Verdugo Hills. He graduated from Verdugo Hills High School.
Bill was drafted after high school and was inducted in the Army on March 12, 1968. He served in the 534th Transportation Company. He told many stories of driving truck and other experiences in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on March 5, 1970. He received the following awards: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with V Device and a Bronze Star Medal.
Bill was married twice before finding his wife of 32 years, Reneé Timmons. They created a strong family with his son and her daughter and lived in Lake County, CA. Bill was involved in the kids’ activities including coaching little league, attending youth sporting events, being a 4-H swine project leader, hauling rabbits, kids and pigs all over to shows and being the main cook and supporter for Matt’s racing career.
Bill worked as a carpenter and truck driver and retired in 2011. Once retired, he loved to cook for his honey and do tractor work on the property. He enjoyed playing golf and camping in their travel trailer.
Bill was a member of the Elks Lodge # 2704 in Lakeport and #1250 in Red Bluff. He was also a member of the Manton Grange for many years. He enjoyed cooking for large groups of people and fund raisers. He involved his family, kids and grandkids, in these activities.
He and Reneé moved to Manton in 2004, where they designed and built their custom home. In the last year, his greatest joy was sitting on his front porch.
He is survived by: Wife, Reneé; Son, Matthew (Shannon); Daughter, Joanne Timmons; Step-daughters Susan (Steve) Rounds and Janice (Shaun) Hornby; Granddaughters - Courtney, Haley, Faith, Emily and great granddaughter – Nyeli. Two dogs and a cat.
Predeceased by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law - Lorna D. and Ralph E. Thomas; his ex-wife, Naomi Bruce and numerous beloved dogs
Bill will be interned at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, - date to be determined.
