Angeline M. (Galloway) Masterson, 95 of Redding passed away January 13th, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Angeline was born April 24th 1923 in Prosser, Washington. Her family then moved to Tule Lake, California where her father won a homestead being a United States Military veteran. After graduating from high school in 1941 she attended Chico State and graduated in 1945 with a degree in Education. She moved back to Tule Lake and taught elementary school. In 1955 while attending continuing education classes at Chico State she met the love of her life, Bill Masterson and they were married in 1956 at Tule Lake. She then moved to Redding and they started their family with a son Allen in 1957 and daughter Beverly in 1959. She returned to teaching first grade at BonnyviewElementary School in 1968 then transferred to Manzanita Elementary School where she continued to teach first grade until she retired in 1980. Many students in later years would say how much they loved her as their teacher. After retirement Angie and Bill spent their leisure time traveling the Western United States and relaxing at home in Redding until his passing in 1985. In later years, Angie travelled the world to her ancestral home of Ireland (Galloway/Fitzhugh) and also visited Greece and Russia.
In later years Angie was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles (at which she was very good). She enjoyed her many friends and church activities. Angie was a kind and loving mother, wife and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Angeline was preceded in death by her husband Bill and daughter Beverly, also brother Harry and sister Linda. She is survived by her son Allen Masterson (Linda), sister Ruth Tintaryand son-in-law Richard Smid along with numerous nieces and nephews.
