

Born Jan 28, 1915 in Denver, CO, he moved to Shasta Copunty in 1946 from South Gate, CA.
He was a printer and co-owner of the Redding Printing Co., and at one time was a linotype operator for the Redding Record Searchlight. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a glider pilot. He was a past president of the Redding Kiwanis Club, Redding Typographical Union and the Redding Archery Club and was a past member of the Riverview Golf and Country Club, Tucker Oaks Golf Association, Northern CA Golf Association, Redding Elks Lodge No. 1073, Airport Flying Club, Enterprise Flying Club, Shasta Aviation Flying Club, the Cascade Bowhunters Association, California Bowhunters and Field Archers, National Archery Association, Wonderland Twirlers Square Dance Club, Shasta College Associated Student body, Correspondence Chess League of America, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 417 of South Gate, Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troops 77 and 59 of Redding, Founder of Cub Scout Pack 48 of Cottonwood, founder and advisor of Air Scout Squadron of 91 of Redding, and served in many other capacities within the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include wife, Hazel; sons Harold and William of Redding; James of Maple Valley, WA, 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
