Edward Lonnie Davis was a resident of Redding, California.
Edward Lonnie Davis passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in Sacramento, California, Ed moved to Hayfork in 1945, where he excelled in sports and discovered a lifelong love of hunting.
In Hayfork, Ed met the love of his life, Mary, and the two were married on June 18, 1960. They welcomed two sons, Mark and Brian, and remained in Hayfork until relocating to Redding in 1972.
Ed had many passions—hunting, classic cars, and both playing and watching sports—but nothing brought him greater joy than his family. He cherished watching his four grandchildren, and later his nine great-grandchildren, grow up and compete in the sports he loved so much.
Known for his quick wit, easy conversation, and legendary sweet tooth, Ed never turned down an extra scoop of ice cream or his all-time favorite: brownies with walnuts. His humor, warmth, and talkative nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ACLU in Ed’s honor.
