He joined the Army in 1945 and was a proud veteran of the 1st Armored Division in Germany. He drove many years for Delta Lines, helping him develop his hard earned reputation for being a tough old bird.
In 1951 he married Katherine J. Middleton, and became a lifelong fan and member of the entire Middleton family. Kathy passed away in 1971.
In 1972, he married Marion Caldwell, and remained her close companion until she passed in 2014.
His family and friends extend their appreciation to the entire staff of Corbett's Restaurant for years of nourishing Gene and making sure there was no butter on his toast.
A brief military tribute to Gene will take place on July 14th at 9:30 a.m. at Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, CA.
