Helen Cynthia Hoge (Cooley) Burwell entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord July 1, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California. Born August 2, 1917 in Burlington, Wyoming, she was 96 years old.

Devoted wife of late husband, Harold "Hal" Burwell who entered into his reward in August 1988. Loving mother of son, Charles "Chuck" Robert Cooley, his wife, Anita, of Strum, Wisconsin, their eight children, their children's seven spouses, 30 grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren of Wisconsin and Folsom, California; late daughter, Dixie Ann Cooley, who died in infancy in Cody, Wyoming; daughter, Linda Luana Cooley Sharrett, her husband, Clifton "Cliff" Sharrett, of Redding, California,their three children and their children's three spouses, eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren of Litchfield and Phoenix, Arizona, Dixon and Redding, California, and Bangor, Washington.

Helen worked at the Irma Hotel and Restaurant in Cody, Wyoming, Bureau of Reclamation in Juneau, Alaska, California Forestry Department at Redding Municipal Airport, City of Redding Planning Division, and Bureau of Land Management in Redding, California. She loved dancing, crocheting, needle working and crafting gifts, metal detecting, wearing Hal's beautiful jewelry creations, playing bingo and cards, friends at the Senior Nutrition Center, growing roses, peonies, iris, lilies, ect., visiting with longtime neighbors, shopping, lunching and collecting red glass and antiques with her friend and care giver, traveling to Arizona, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Mexico, studying the bible, Saturday morning breakfasts with friends, family dinners, reading, crossword puzzles, maintaining life-long friendships, and the companionship of her little Shih Tzu.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Redding Memorial Park 1201 Continental St Redding, California 96001
