Jack Beale was born on June 13, 1923 in Dunsmuir, CA. He died on March 24, 2016 at A Brand New Day Assisted Living Facility in Redding, CA. He struggled with Alzheimer's disease for the past few years prior to his death.
During his life he lived in Gerber, CA, Red Bluff, CA, Kennett CA, and Klamath Falls, OR. Most of his life was spent living in Redding.
His wife, Evelyn, predeceased him in death. They had been married for 63 years at the time of her death in 2006. His parents and his only sister also predeceased him in death. Many of his friends and co-workers also passed away before him.
Jack leaves his two sons, Greg and Bob and his daughter Lisa. He also leaves 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Jack was active in many Redding community groups including: Redding Youth Baseball (President), Pop Warner Football, Shasta Historical Society (President), Shasta High School Athletic Boosters, and Redding Umpires Association.
He worked for over 30 years at Nielsen Motor Company as Service Manager. He also worked as a handyman for several years.
Jack was a master mechanic and was very handy at repairing just about anything. He built his and Evelyn's first home around a finished garage. He also remodeled homes for each of his sons. Once he rebuilt a carburetor without the use of a manual. He made sure his sons would not follow him in the automobile repair business by always doing the repairs himself.
Jack had a devious sense of humor and in spite of his sometimes caustic reputation, he was fun to be around. Even when the Alzheimer's disease was affecting him, he could bring a laugh. He once called 911 and asked if they could deliver a Damburger hamburger. -
