Jack Robert Best was born in Paducah, Texas on August 23, 1919, of parents John D. and Lena Best. He spent his childhood in Paducah but as his dad was a horse trader, the family moved around many places as all the family also helped in picking fruit and cotton.
Jack served in the Army during WWII, stationed in the Aleutian Islands and when the war ended he married and lived in So. California. After numerous jobs he went to work at the UCLA Medical Center for 25 years. He then moved to Northern California with his wife (first wife was deceased in 1972) and began to buy rental property - Best Lane. He loved to travel via RV and explore new places. He loved to "mini" farm where he raised pigs, cows, mini donkeys, mine horses and regular horses.
He was active on the Drill Team Sheriff's Posse and was a Drill Master of the Junior Posse. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him especially his 3 children: Lars Best, Christine Goldman and Peggy Best.
