James (Jim) Nolan Youngblood, 72, passed away after a short illness on June 3, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center of Redding, CA. He was born in San Jose, CA on July 18, 1950 to James (Jim) Oliver and Joan Youngblood. Jim had two younger brothers, Jonathon and Jeff. His family moved to Dunsmuir, CA when he was 10 and he remained there most of his life. Jim attended Dunsmuir High School where he was on the football and wrestling teams. In 1968, he graduated and enlisted in the military. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. In 1981, he married Donna Theresa Thomas in Santa Rosa, CA. They returned to Dunsmuir in 1983. Together they had three children, Gabriel, Michelle, and Joelle. He worked in construction and general labor for over 20 years. Jim enjoyed reading, hiking, hunting, and going on long drives to spot bucks and other animals in the forest. He lived in the house he built with his cousin, Brook Bowman, in Dunsmuir, and spent his last years working with his son on their property near his home. He is survived by his brother Jeff, his 3 children, and 7 grandchildren. He will be missed.
