A MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY
Jenell Foster JULY 21,1953 – MARCH 24, 2021 This is her Story: Our mother (Jenell Foster) went to rest in the arms of God in heaven on Saturday, March 24, 2021 at U.C. Davis hospital in California. She was born Janell Harris in Hanford California to A.J. Harris and Mattie Jean Sanders. Born on July 21,1953, she was the first of eight children: Sister to, Artenzia Berry, Delsenna Davis, Rochelle Davis, Crystal Jackson, Jewell Jackson, Samantha Jackson, and Endia Jackson. Growing up, Jenell was very active and social in the community. She was involved in Pom Pons, Purple skirts, GAA, Track, Student counsel and elected Sweetheart’s Ball Queen at Shasta High School. She also played Softball and started her own drill team. Our mother found her calling in always helping others even though she may have not had much herself (feeding others, having a conversation, or offering a helping hand). She developed a love of children by becoming a Preschool Teacher at Martin Luther King JR. Center (Redding, CA.). She went on to become a Supervisor for Pacific Bell Telephone Company (Oakland, CA.) and later becoming a Medical Billing Administrator at Mercy Hospital (Redding, CA.). Our mother was blessed with the arrival of four children in her life. Daughter Tishamika, Son Jeffrey II, Daughter Jessica, and Daughter Bryce. Our mother paralleled and struggled through motherhood to keep her children together. She would always say ““I wish there were a rule book on how to raise children”. We knew she did her best and we rebelled. As parents ourselves, she taught us several lessons about life, and if not for those lessons we would not know how to be better people. Our mother wanted her children to strive for success, have a better life and break the chain of disparities in history. Her children will carry on the legacy, pride, and strength through each other, because her work meant something. Our mother was an extremely energetic person whose brilliance, humor, and tremendous humility impacted every person she met. She was a legend of her generation and will not be forgotten by many. We respect her as a strong woman that was able to live her life vicariously through her children, without boundaries and limitations. During this loss, this is a time that we would like for everyone to remember our mother for who she was as a person, how she touched their lives and will not be forgotten in anyone’s hearts. Our mother is survived by her children, Tishamika, Jeffrey, Jessica, and Bryce. Grandchildren Maximillian, Gabriel, Khristopher, Sashelle, Olivia, Olijah, Dakarai, Jace, and Kyro. Great Grandson Rio. Sisters, Artenzia, Delsenna, Rochelle, Crystal, Jewell, Samantha, and Endia. Celebration of Life Event: Martin Luther King JR. Park 06-05-2021 @1:00pm Final resting place visit only: McDonald Chapel, Redding California after 06-07-2021 Remember: This is her story.
