

Jewel Foster went home to be with her Lord on April 27, 2025. Jewel Davis Foster was born to Clarence and Martha Davis on May 31, 1933 in Pocatello, Idaho. Jewel was the middle daughter of triplet girls and one of 12 siblings. In 1951 Jewel moved to California where she met the love of her life, William “Bill” Foster III. They made their home in Trinity Center, CA and had three children, David, Tommy, and Susanne. They moved to Redding in 1960 where they shared 49 years of marriage.
Jewel was a doting wife, mother, and grandmother and could always be found taking care of her family in one capacity or another. She loved to cook and bake and was famous for her signature chocolate chip cookies. Jewel served as a Sunday school teacher, Cub/Girl Scout leader, and many other volunteer positions devoted to her family. She enjoyed an active social life and took many trips, most memorably summer trips to the coast with her children and grandchildren. In her later years, Jewel embarked on cruise adventures to Hawaii and Costa Rica, among other places. Her positive attitude and genuine caring and understanding for others are a legacy she leaves for her family.
Jewel will be greatly missed by her daughter Susanne Masotti (David), granddaughter Heather Summers (Dan), triplet sister June Spinola, brother Ned Davis, her seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jewel was preceded in death by her devoted husband Bill Foster, sons David and Tommy Foster, grandsons William Clarke Foster and Jonathan Richard Masotti, siblings Doris Drowns, Lucille Hermison, Rhea Glassburn, Ruby Glassburn Hathaway, Julia Ward, Stanley, Daniel, Melvin and Lee Davis.
A funeral service for Jewel will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McDonald's Chapel, 1275 Continental Street, Redding, CA 96001. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Redding Memorial Park, 1201 Continental St, Redding, CA 96001.
