My wife and I met Skip in 1993; I stumbled upon Clark Creek Lodge while working in Burney.  I booked our first anniversary vacation at the Lodge; by the time we left we were being called good friends by Skip. He was one of the friendliest and kindest people we ever met.  Over the years we kept in touch; mostly through Christmas cards 
We stayed at the lodge a few more times over the years and even brought friends to stay with us. Skip welcomed them all
Just today our daughter found a note from Skip welcoming her to the world in 1996; her name is Rachael and it just so happened that Skip was in Rachel Nevada during that time (probably hunting)
I’m very saddened by Skips passing but I still have fond memories of him and his generosity towards me and my family. Aloha Skip!

Skip,
Your unselfish ways and kindness were second to none.  We always thought of you as family and will forever be grateful for the loving way you treated each and everyone of us.  Spending time at your property will forever shape all of us for the better.  You made the world a better place with your generosity. There will never be another place with the hospitality of Skip's Clark Creek Resort.  You were  such a generous man.  What I know is if there were more people like you, Skip ,the world would be a better place. 
Skip, watch over all us and guide us through our day to day  grind in hopes of  following your unselfish ways. 
Save a couple spots on the boat in those pearly gates.  We are going fishing with your dad, and my pop, but this time I get the roast beef sandwich instead of the spam or hot dog hoagies.

Skip and his parents were the best hosts to our family trips to Clark's  Creek Station and beyond. We spent many a summer camped at the lodge, riding the Harley up for an overnight dinner, family get together for fishing trips with his dad and Skip and our children went back as adults .  When we spoke with him a few weeks before his passing it was so sad to hear the pain he was in. Rest In Peace Skip, you will be missed by your friends from Reno but the memories will be forever close to our hearts. Tell your wonderful parents hello when you see them in Heaven. Love the Bird family 

So many fun memories over these last 20+ years. Fabulous dinners at the lodge when groups of us would come out from Mt. Shasta and  close the lodge down. Those private dinners at the lodge when so many of us got together and shared the good times.  Those special game night dinners at the Cena's, where everyone brought and cooked whatever they caught or killed...those were the rules and what a great time it was...chukar and elk (thank you Skip) venison, dove, pheasant and don't forget the halibut. Those cool summer nights giggin for frogs on the Cena Ponds, laughing ourselves silly and hoping we didn't fall out of the boat...there may have been margaritas involved..

Thank you for your service,  for all those years of special wishes, for loving your friends unconditionally and for being a part of  my life. I will always cherish our time together.  

These last six months knowing how much pain you were in was heartbreaking. I am so sorry you had to suffer as you did.
Rest in Peace my friend...I will miss you dearly...Mindy

 Although we've never met. I've heard so much about you guys. I just wanted to let you know that my heart and my thoughts are with you.

Although I only knew him a fairly short time. Skip was like a father to me. The most honest truthful and stand up man I've ever met. He will forever be a part of me. I hope I can honor him with my life and the way I will care for the lodge and the community he so loved.

Amongst the sadness of missing Skip. I try to remember all the great times that we shared. All that he taught me. The many laughs and conversations that we shared. I cannot thank God enough for having Skip in my life.

 I wish you all the very best. Want to let you know that I'm always here for you if you ever need me. I really look forward to meeting you.
