Lorena Jane Smith

Lorena J. Smith, age 98, passed away March 20th, 2014. She was born September 9th, 1915, in Blue Lake, California, to Almonzo L. and Josephine S. Swanson.Lorena grew up in Humboldt Co., graduated from Arcata High School and attended Humboldt State University. She was a homemaker most of her life, taking loving care of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to Sunday school and church, working in her garden, knitting, and playing Bingo.She is survived by her brother, Lee Swanson of Redding; her daughter, Irene Stickney-Bradford, of Redding, her daughter, Josephine Ashbrook, of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; her son, Richard Smith, of Redding; plus 14 grandchildren, 27 Great grandchildren and 8 Great, Great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Glen R. Smith, and two daughters, Gwendolyn Anderson, and Patricia Bean.Memorial service will be held April 5th, 2014 at 12-Noon at McDonalds Chapel in Redding, CA.
