Roberta H Taylor passed away peacefully on February 17, 2021 at the age of 91 years old in Rocklin, California. She was born on December 22, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana and lived in Visalia, California for the last 10 years prior to her death. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Arthur D. Taylor Sr. of over 50 years and former Dean of Students at Shasta College and parents, Alexander and Albertha Hudson. Roberta was a loving mother and wife, religious, loved her family and always wanted to surround herself with happiness and inspiration from family and friends. Roberta is survived by her by daughter Roberta Taylor-Lively and husband Dr. Harry Lively of Visalia, California; Son-Arthur D. Taylor, II, and wife Debra Taylor of Rocklin, California. She leaves her brother Leon Hudson and family of Lancaster, CA and Tehachapi, CA and sister Julia Turner and family of Grand Rapids, MI, Suisun, CA and Brooklyn, NY. Roberta has three grandchildren- Trenton A. Lively, Arthur D. Taylor III, and Alexandra C. Taylor and a host of nieces and nephews. Roberta received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana and Master of Arts Degree in Education from Chico State University in Chico, California. Roberta’s passion and career for over 50 years was teaching. She was a high school teacher and administrator for 34 years at Shasta High School, Pioneer High School and Enterprise High School in Redding, California. Throughout her teaching career she owned a reading skills and comprehension business for children and adults. After retirement Roberta and Art started a Charter School-Dynamics Research Resource Skills Center in Redding, CA to provide vocational opportunities for students unable to realize their potential in a larger school setting. There will a celebration of life service at McDonald's Chapel & Redding Memorial Park on March 4th (Thursday) at 12:30pm.
