Sue Blackwood Norberg

5/18/46 to 6/1/13

Sue passed away at our home June 1, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer at 67 years old. Born in Flint, Michigan on May 18, 1946 to James R. & Frances G. Blackwood. The family moved from Oakland to Red Bluff in 1952 where Sue spent her childhood and graduated from RBUHS in 1964.

Sue is predeceased by her father James R. Blackwood, sister Helen (Charlie) Cutler and grandchild Zachary Short. Sue is survived by husband Ken E. Norberg of Redding whom she married in 1986, mother Frances G. Blackwood of Redding, daughters Karen Wolf of Shasta Lake & Lisa (Chris) Clark of Colorado Springs, CO. , step-children Jeff Norberg & Kim (JR) Short of Wasilla, AK, sisters Sally (Patrick) McCaffrey of Chico, Kay (Norm) Overbay of Redding & brother Gordon (Mary) Blackwood of Elk Grove, CA. Sue is also survived by 8 grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.

Sue worked for more than 27 years for Shasta County, retiring as Deputy Treasurer/Public Administrator in 2006. She and Ken have enjoyed traveling since her retirement. Sue had a passion for all animals, loved to garden and spent many hours in her yard.

We will have a Celebration of Sue’s Life on Friday June 14th at her & Ken's home at 6566 Leonard Dr. Redding, CA 96001. Feel free to drop by anytime from 10 am to 2 pm at our home in Redding.
