On Monday, October 5, 2020, Douglas Francis Coleman passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Renton, Washington at the age of 77. He was born to his loving parents Albert and Doris Coleman on April 22, 1943, in Spokane, Washington.
Doug graduated from Renton High School in 1961 and continued on to the University of Washington. His education was put on hold when he enlisted in the US Army and spent time in Australia. After his discharge he returned to finish his degree. He had a long career in accounting working for non-profit organizations including Catholic Community Services, Jewish Family Services, Tacoma Art Museum and Thrive Washington.
Doug took great pleasure in music as a trombone player in high school concert and jazz bands and later he especially enjoyed the UW marching band and its trips to the Rose Bowl. Also, his passion for cars, especially corvettes, was well known.
Doug loved his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving person. He gave the responsibility of caring for aging parents, being the oldest of five siblings and mentor to colleagues his heartfelt devotion.
Doug is survived by his stepdaughter Carie (Jason) Burkey, his four siblings Carol (Doug) Toschi, Connie Dunn, Paul and Janice (Steve) Matthews and all his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
