She was preceded in death by her parents, Curt and Marg Gray; and favorite dog, Karidian.
Barbara was a 1974 Clemson University graduate who loved teaching math and was a dynamic tutor for individual students. She also sold Avon for over 30 years. Barbara loved to watch soccer matches, especially when her son played, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are the love of her life and husband of 48 years, Clyde James “Jim” Guthrie; son, Brandon James Gray Guthrie (Bobbie Reeves); grandchildren, Kaylyn Wright Guthrie, Madalyn Irene Mae Guthrie, Grace Glidden, Atlas Chinault; sister, Jean; dogs, Pixie, Shep, Charlie; bird, Sunny; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Those attending the service are encouraged to wear shades of purple, her favorite color.
