

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Minter Barnett, 90, from Henrico VA. She went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born in 1935, Betty was a devoted servant of Christ, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was an elder at Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church, where she was known for her unwavering faith and kindness.
Her love and devotion to the choir within her church was the light of her world. She loved to sing the hymns and taught the Sunday school/children’s choir/children’s church.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents John and Nora Minter, brother Pete Minter (Agnes), Sister Ruth Carreras (Joe), and brother-in-law Harold Hardy.
She is survived by her sister Ann Hardy, 3 daughters Deborah Allanson, Janis Brewbaker (Mike), Rebecca Jack (Jason), 6 grandchildren Stephen (Beth), James (Amy), Michael (Jessica), Matthew, Ashley (Billy), Megan (Matt) 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter.
Betty retired from the Va Employment Commission (Tax Auditor). She continued her devotion to volunteering at Carlisle Baptist. She was also a member of Saints Alive, who traveled to express faith in the lord to others.
Betty was a strong, fiercely independent, determined woman. We will miss her every day. A verse she lived by, Philippians 4:13, defined her life: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’
A graveside services for Betty will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr, Sandston, VA 23150.
