Betty A. Helmick, born February 24, 1939 in Richmond, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 29, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Bruce Helmick; parents, Louis and Emily Aigner; and an infant sister. Mrs. Helmick is survived by her sons, Ted, Jeff (Lisa), Mark (Tracie), Brent (Nicole); grandchildren, Christine, Blake, Matthew, Hunter, Madeline, Jack, Conor, Mason, Hayden; brothers, Lyne Aigner, Willson Aigner, Norman Aigner, W.D. Aigner, Randolph Aigner; sister, Dorothy Nolte; aunt, Geraldine Spivey and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Helmick attended Varina Church of the Nazarene, where she played the piano and taught Sunday School. Betty's family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral service will be held at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, 2950 New Market Road, Henrico VA 23231 on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
