

Brenda Lois Silby, born on September 25, 1949, went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2025, at the age of 76. A beloved and humorous soul, Brenda was known for her feisty spirit and deep love for animals, including her three cherished dogs and cat. She was a resident of Richmond, Virginia.
Brenda dedicated 38 years of her career to the Veterans Paint Shop, where her contributions were greatly valued. Outside of her professional life, she had a passion for hunting and fishing, activities that brought her much joy. Brenda was also a proud member of the Chesterfield Moose Lodge, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Vera Victoria Vanhoy and James Hardin Vanhoy Sr.; her sister, Betty Jean Cox; her brothers, Joe Bill Kennedy, Ira Dwight Burchette; and her nephew, Kenneth Russell Williams.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cynthia L. Silby-Dezsi and her husband David Dezsi; her sister, Wanda Kay Barksdale; her brother, James Hardin Vanhoy Jr. and his wife Debbie; nieces, Wendy Ann Williams and her husband Tom, Peggy Gayle Beckner and her husband Michael; great-nephews, James Lee Stuller, Steven Austin Williams, Michael Beckner Jr.; and longtime family friend, Trisha Allen.
