She was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Stuart Slaughter; parents, Joseph and Doswell Walker Cecil; and two sisters, Barbara and Jean.
She is survived by three sons, David Wayne Slaughter (Stacy), Donald Edwin Slaughter (Julie) and Thomas Walker Slaughter (Amanda); seven grandchildren, Mason, Lindsey, Peyton, Cody, Jamie, Breanna and Steven; four great-grandchildren; and four brothers including her twin brother, Loarn, Sonny, Emmitt and Bruce.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 5, at 1 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park.
