Carl Lemon Moore, 74, passed away on September 10, 2026, after a five year battle with cancer. Born in Richmond, Virginia, Carl lived with steadiness and purpose, marked by a deep devotion to those he loved and a quiet strength that carried him through life’s seasons with dignity.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Margaret Moore. He worked at Philip Morris for over 30 years, a testament to his reliability and commitment. To family and friends, he was a constant presence—loyal, caring, and sincerely devoted.
An avid outdoorsman, Carl found genuine enjoyment in fishing and skeet/target shooting, pursuits that reflected his calm focus and appreciation for time spent in the open air. Throughout his life, Carl’s strong and quiet faith remained a source of comfort, especially at the end.
Carl is survived by his wife, Patrice; daughter, Rebecca; cousin, Joanne Austin; along with many other dear family members and friends.
The family is especially grateful for the compassionate care Carl received during his illness from Angela VanLandingham, M.D., and her team; David Randolph, M.D., and his team; Charles Sparrow; the Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center staff; as well as many others. Their kindness and support were deeply appreciated.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Ln., Richmond, VA 23222.
