She was preceded in death by her husband, Jule Matthews and her daughter, Lisa Davis Mead.
Sam retired most recently from managing a dental office and prior to that retired from Civil Service providing support for the United States Military. She was a member of Bon Air Baptist Church and enjoyed feeding and watching squirrels.
Left to cherish Sam’s memory are her two sons, Duane Davis (Faith) of Carnesville, Ga. and Scott R. Davis (Arden) of Ashland, Va.; two grandsons, Noah Sebastian and Lance Davis of Carnesville, Ga.; one granddaughter, Hope Harrison (Alfred) of Gainesville, Ga.; three great-grandsons who meant the world to her, Bennett, Gabriel, and Miles; and a very special friend, Don Pietras.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 1 p.m. in Amelia Veteran’s Cemetery Chapel, 10300 Pridesville Rd., Amelia Court House, Va. 23002.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sam’s name may be made to the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter, 9300 Public Works Rd., Chesterfield, Va. 23832. Please make the check payable to Chesterfield County Police Foundation with Animal Services Donation as the subject.
