

Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the early morning hours, Charles Woodrow Crewe went to his eternal rest. He had fought the good fight, he had finished the race, and had kept the faith. He was born on March 8, 1940 to the late Russel Irvin Crewe, and Ada Mae Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Crewe of 51 years; three siblings, Ruth Mae Grooms, Russell Crewe, Nactelre Jackson.
Charles retired from Philip Morris in 1997, then purchased several new dump trucks and formed C. W. Crewe & Son Hauling, which he owned and operated for twenty years. He loved working on cars, drag racing and together the family created team Woody Racing. He also enjoyed fishing with his friends. He was especially known for his jokes and his teasing. He liked sports and was a Dallas Cowboy fan.
He leaves in God’s care his son, Charles Crewe Jr, his daughter, April Crewe Throckmorton, his grandchildren, Sean Crewe, Nicholas Throckmorton, Charles Crewe III, Kimberly Stell (Brandon); eight great-grandchildren; one brother Rodney Jackson; nieces, nephews; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231, US, on April 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Graveside Services will be held at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr, Sandston, VA 23150, US, on April 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm.
