Charles H. Merricks

Charles H. Merricks, 98, of Richmond passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of WW II. He worked for many years at Chuck’s Grocery Store and after his retirement worked at Ukrop’s. He was preceded in death by two wives, Clara Dixon Merricks and Lucille Merricks and is survived by two step-children, Charles Wayne Barnett and Margie Callahan; and a host of other family members. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 9, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. Graveside services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice.
