Cherie Lynn Smith

SMITH, Cherie Lynn, 50, passed away on September 16, 2018. Preceding her in death are Cherie’s father, James Allen Smith Jr.; and sister, Shawna Robertson. Cherie was self-employed, but her life was guided by love for all animals, especially horses. She also loved being on the water, boating and was an avid gardener and reader. Cherie leaves behind her son, Michael B. Smith, mother; Herveylee Wood, uncles; Robert C. Smith (Diane) and Paul D. Smith (Joyce); and sisters, Jodi B. Smith and Amanda Patterson. She will be missed, but Cherie has finally flown away. Friends are welcomed to a visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., from 5 to 8 p.m. on September 24; a Celebration of Life on September 25, from 12 to 1 p.m. with reception to follow and conclude with a graveside service in Washington Memorial Park at 3 p.m. Condolences may be made online at NelsenRichmond.com.
