

Cheatham, David Lee Jr., 58, of Charles City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. He is preceded in death by his mother, Georgie Cheatham; brother, Ronnie Cheatham; and nephew, Ryan Vaughan. He is survived by his fiancé, Cyndi Wyatt Blake and her children Brandon, Blake, Clay and Grayson; his father, David Lee Cheatham, Sr. (Sandra); sisters, Judy (Andy) Vaughan and Sherry Cheatham; nephews, Tyler Vaughan, Chase, Chandler and Chaney Cheatham; niece, Kristen Guynes; sister-in-law, Tina Cheatham; special friends, Michael and Henry Upshur, Gary Massengale and Beth Wise. David owned and operated Cheatham Refrigeration and later was employed by Richmond Public Schools. He raced professionally for the cigarette boat circuit and loved the water and fast boats. His passions were family, helicopters, motorcycling, all-terrain vehicles and traveling. He was known for his generosity and living life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 9 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond; where a memorial service will be held the same day at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
