David Leo Duke

David Leo Duke, 87, of Henrico, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Daniel Duke, Sr. and Josephine Mosby Duke; wife, Elsie Taylor Duke; and his brother, Lawrence Daniel Duke, Jr. David retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a department of general services manager and served in the Army Reserves. He was a 60 year member with perfect attendance at the Varina Ruritan Club and also a member of Greentown Hunt Club in Brunswick County. He loved to fish, hunt, cook, collect Civil War relics and most of all he enjoyed being with his family. Left to cherish his memory is his son, David Taylor Duke (Theresa); grandson, David James Duke; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231 where a service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
