David died peacefully surrounded by family and friends in hospice after suffering a stroke 23 months earlier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O. B. Wood Jr. and Evelyn Crawford Wood.
David is survived by two brothers Mark Stephen Wood (Susan), Charles Michael Wood (Sally); numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He loved his church, Four Mile Creek, and his church family. He enjoyed golf, guitar, and being dad’s caregiver for 20 years. David was a die-hard Redskin fan.
The family would like to thank the good people at Accordius Health in Emporia for their excellent care of David.
A celebration of life will be held at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Interment will be private.
