Granny sure was exactly that.  It was as if I wasn't even going to a babysitter, but just a grandma on the other side of the family because she made you feel like family.  From watching cartoons on the living room floor in the morning to having chicken nuggets with honey or a grilled cheese with the crust cut off.  My apologies go to the affected family and friends, but as I'm all sure you know; heaven got a very sweet angel.

We first met Granny in 1997 when looking for someone to care for our Alex.  The comfort and peace she provided for this first time mom was so reassuring.  She then cared for our Logan starting in 2002.  She cared for both boys from 6 weeks old until they were 4 and old enough for preschool.  Knowing our boys had loving arms to hold and hug them and a kind lap to climb up on was a blessing.  She blessed us all and truly was our Granny too.  She had a never ending smile and always "alright" disposition no matter what was going on or how she felt.  When she joined our church family it was a blessing to see her kind face weekly again.  Granny's reputation as a babysitter in the community was wide spread and well respected.  Thank you Cordle family for sharing your mom and Miss Emma for sharing your sister.  "The sisters" minus the recipe is how we fondly referred to you ladies.  You all are in our prayers as you adjust and go through these times.  We love you and are honored to have been one of Granny's kids.

We first met Dot in January 1993 when we were looking for child care for our infant son. Over the next ten years she and then along with Miss Emma took wonderful care of all three of our children. Words cannot adequately express our sorrow at Dot's passing. We could not have asked for a more loving and caring person to watch our children. They loved going to Granny's house everyday and usually didn't want to go home! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this sad time. Heaven has gained another angel. Rest in peace.

When my mama passed away, Dot and Emma opened their arms and hearts to me and made me one of their family.  Dot was a special lady and a loving and caring friend who I treasured and will sorely miss.  Rest in peace Granny.  You will be missed and never forgotten.

She entered my life as one who loved my children, watched over them while they slept, held them when they cried, and fed them when they were hungry. Her love for them and my family led us all to a great friendship.   She shared her fruitcake, her dinner table, her heartbreaks and her laughter with us.  We were blessed to have had the opportunity to call her our "Granny".  Love and miss you Granny.  Our thoughts and prayers will remain with the Cordle Family - Gena, Sid, and he boys.

Granny Dot is one of the greatest women I ever had the pleasure of knowing. The genuine love she showed to all the kids she helped raise while their parents went to work was a blessing that can never be measured.  She made leaving Bryce everyday easy as I never wondered if he would be ok.  She wasn't just his sitter she was his, and everyone's granny..  She loved them and they could feel it and they loved her back...   My family could never repay her and we will forever be grateful to have been a small part of her life.
