Eleanor Orange "Ellie" Burnett

BURNETT, Eleanor Orange “Ellie”, 92, of Highland Springs passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018. She retired from Highland Springs High School Cafeteria after many years of service and was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Eckley Burnett, Jr.; parents, Eddie and Louise Orange; sister, Margaret; and brother, Grayson and is survived by her children, Kenneth L. Burnett (Gail), Ronald L. Burnett (Barbara), George Eckley Burnett III (Anna) and Becky Watson (Brian); six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, April 23, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 6 p.m. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of James River Hospice for their great care and ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the hospice at 9211 Arboretum Parkway, Suite 100, N.
