Ethel Yvonne Crawley

Ethel Yvonne “Vonnie” Crawley was born to the late Charlie and Irene Johnson August 25, 1934. She went to be with the lord September 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by brothers Alphonso and Maurice Johnson and sister Geraldine Anderson. Ethel worked as a transportation specialist at Reynolds Metals Company for 30 years. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church all of her life where she taught Sunday School, helped start the Sunshine Choir, and was a member of the Sheepfold group. Ethel married Theodore C. Crawley February 2, 1954 and that union lasted 61 years until his passing. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and visited many states in the United States as well as the Caribbean Islands. Ethel leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Lucille Hall; brother, Garland Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, god-children, family, friends and a devoted caregiver. Funeral services will be held Friday September 8, 2017, 12 noon at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue Richmond, VA 23231. Ethel will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery 4000 Pilots Lane Richmond, VA 23222. The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to them to express kind words, sent cards, and called to share their love and concern during their time of bereavement.
