He was preceded in death by his son, Floyd Burnette, Jr.; his father, Floyd L. Burnette, Jr.; his mother, Grace Layfield; his stepfather, William Layfield; and his sisters, Joyce Hubbard and Nancy Necolettos.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeff Burnette (Kathy) and Gail Blakley; grandchildren, Ricky Blakley, Jr. (Rosanna), Lee Blakley (Brittany), Angela Adinolfi, April Burnette, and Molly Burnette; great-grandchildren, Grace, Dani, Beau, Savannah, Fletcher, Damon, and Bryson. He was blessed to have two long-time faithful and devoted friends, Charles Clemons and Lawrence Cannon.
Buddy loved his Varina Baptist Church family dearly. He retired from GRTC after 38 years of dedicated service. He loved yard work, Nascar, and the Dallas Cowboys.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 11 am until service time at 12 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
