MCLEAN, Gilbert Warren, Jr., 75, of Quinton, Va., passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was a retired Industrial Engineer with AT&T and a member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church. Gilbert received his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Warren McLean Sr. and Ruth Dixon McLean. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Hart McLean; children, Gilbert Warren McLean III, Robert Wesley Bland, Richard Wayne Bland and Sheila Collins; numerous grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and brother, Phillip McLean. Gilbert was a generous man and always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed sailing and the Washington Redskins. Gilbert was greatly loved and will be missed by his family. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church, 2010 Carlisle Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231.
