Harold O. Hammonds

Harold O. Hammonds, 50, of Quinton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2020. He was formerly an employee of the Food Lion in Quinton. Harold was known as a man with a big heart and was a friend to all he met. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen L. Hammonds and is survived by his mother, Edna Ann Hammonds; siblings, Glenn O. Hammonds (Gisele), Brenda Taylor (William), Alvin H. Hammonds (Roxanne), Thomas Hammonds, William L. Hammonds, Francis Hammonds and Robert L. Hammonds (Tera); numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends including a special friend, Henry. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. Online condolences may be made at www.nelsenrichmond.com.

I remember Harold from shopping at Foodlion in Quinton & at the Fruit & Vegetable stand across the road he would be there talking to a friend that was tending the stand he was so nice to everyone no matter if he knew you or not he will truly be missed his warm and bright face will surly be missed we need more people in the world today like Harold he was one of the reasons my Husband & I moved to this area because of the wonderful kind People of Quinton and Harold was like a Beacon in the dark to this community and will be in our Hearts forever I will Prey for the Loved ones may the Lord ease your pain & loss

I am so sorry to hear of Harold's death. He was one of the sweetest and nicest men I have ever met.Everytime I went to the Food lion we always spoke and he would help me find whatever I was looking for.HE was one of their best employees to me.May God wrap you in his arms to comfort you at this very hard time.Losing one of your children is the hardest loss you will ever encounter.
