Harold Wayne "Skinner" Wright

WRIGHT, Harold Wayne "Skinner", age 67, after a battle with cancer passed away at home in Highland Springs surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, March 18, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Warren "Pete" Wright; mother, Evelyn N. Wright; and brother, Ray Wright. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 41 years, Carol Rea Wright; his daughters, Tammy Wright (fiancé, Robert) and Angela L. Burkhead (boyfriend, Kim); granddaughters, Samantha Swerkes and Hannah Burkhead; sister, June Teas; and nieces and nephew. Wayne retired from Local 388 Carpenter's Union. He was a Vietnam veteran, member of Sandston VFW Post 8529, and the Sandston Moose Lodge. Wayne was a die hard fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and the 49ers. He loved to hunt and fish and his passion was going to the river, riding his golf cart, enjoying his golden beverage and dancing ("Rubberlegs"). A visitation will be held on Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231 where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 12pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park in Sandston.
