Helen Christine Kay Richardson passed away, May 18, 2014, after a long illness. Helen was born in Richmond, Virginia on May 19, 1929. She was a graduate of Radford College and worked for the Virginia Department of Taxation for over 20 years. A longtime member of Westover Baptist Church, Helen was most recently a member of Bon Air Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member of the choir. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Milton Garber Kay and Robert Coleman Kay; and her sister, Frances Kay Feagans. Helen is survived by her son, Roger David Richardson; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Jonas Richardson; and her beloved grand-daughters, Lauren Christine Richardson, Erin Elizabeth Richardson, and Mary Ryan Richardson. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the International Missions Board. Arrangements under the direction of Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, Richmond, VA.
